Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Utility Operator (union position) will be responsible for maintain the screening system and the cyclones, while supporting the other team members in safely and efficiently working in granulation.

Key Tasks:

  • Adhere to and practice all safety regulations. This includes the care and maintenance of all PPE issued to you by the company

  • Must work rotating shifts in the Granulation department

  • Must occasionally wear a respirator to perform certain jobs

  • Responsible for house-keeping in the granulation unit

  • Monitor the screening system and clean the screens on a timely basis

  • Monitor and maintain the cyclones on a timely basis

  • Assist the tractor driver in cleaning #1 , bulk, and minor element elevator pits

  • Monitor final product for quality assurance

  • Assist the scale operator with various tasks

  • Assist the supervisor with mechanical repairs

  • Keep all elevator, screws, and drag chutes clear of build up and lumps

  • Clean up all spillage in the unit and keep the bottom floor swept clean

  • Learn job duties of fellow crew-members for relief purposes

  • Other duties, not mentioned above in order to complete job tasks assigned


  • Understand and obey all Safety and Plant Work Rules

  • Perform manual labor

  • Operate heavy equipment: forklifts and front-end loaders

Essential Qualifications:

  • Understand and obey all Safety and Plant Work Rules

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Required prolonged bending, stooping and squatting

  • Ladder and scaffolding work

  • Frequent stair climbing

  • Overhead work

  • Walk long distances

  • No sitting while working

  • Willing to work weekends and overtime
