Reporting to the Environmental Supervisor, the Environmental Technician will provide guidance, awareness and expertise in the compliance of all environmental regulatory matters associated with Borger Nitrogen Operations.
Responsible for environmental reports to state and federal regulators submitted in professional quality and in a timely manner.
Effective leadership and interpersonal skills to steer site environmental compliance, motivate employee ownership of environmental performance, and implement change as required.
Efficiently communicate and maintain partnerships with all levels at the plant, corporate support, as well as regulatory agency representatives.
Gather and maintain required environmental records.
Perform periodic environmental inspection.audits of the facility for continual improvement, initiate corrective action to reduce costs and risk, and conduct training on site requirements.
Responsible for environmental projects and guidance on projects which effect environmental matters.
Technical aptitude to complete environmetnal reporting and permitting applications
Mechanical aptitude to perform minor maintenance of environmental equipment
Organizational skills to enable timely monitoring and response of environmental key performance indicators
Ability to effectively amange multiple complex assignments with direct implecations to the business
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP and online reporting tools
able to be qualified to operate a forklift and other equipment as needed
High School Diploma
Bachelor's degree in Environmetnal Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Management or Environmental Science.
3 to 5 years experience in Environment Health and Safety preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Certification or demonstrated knowledge and experience in the implementation of site-specific environmental programs, training, procedures, and policies (water, air, hazardous waste/disposal procedures).
