Summary


Kee Safety is a global provider of the highest level of safety solutions and products for every industry. The position of HSEF Coordinator interacts with all personnel at the Kee Safety Buffalo facility, the General Manager's and/or Safety Leads of other North American Business Units (BU's), and the North America HSE Manager. This position will accurately process paperwork, implement and spearhead new programs/initiatives, maintain up to date and organized records, accomplish physical tasks, and problem solve issues related to the objectives of the Health, Safety, Environmental, and Facilities plan for the Kee Safety, Buffalo, NY site. This individual will be the point of contact for most contractors pertaining to the Buffalo facility. The position will also require some minor facility maintenance duties and responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Attend safety trainings requested by Operations Manager and/or HSEF Director, provided internally by Kee Safety Group, and provided externally by approved resources
  • Maintain a consistent interaction and communication with the North America HSE Manager
  • Help research and answer questions concerning various HSEF laws and guidance (OSHA)
  • Perform monthly housekeeping audits, and other pertinent HSEF checks, and report findings to Operations Manager
  • Manage all documentation and communications within OSHA guidelines
  • Create and implement procedures and processes to remain OSHA compliant
  • Perform regular review and updating of equipment maintenance logs, and employee training audits, report findings to managers
  • Perform regular equipment inspections at required intervals
  • Coordinate with vendors/contractors on work to be done at physical site
  • Keep all SDS binders updated, including researching what products require SDS sheets
  • Yearly assigning of company training videos, along with maintenance of users, videos, and weekly reminders to NA BU's
  • Attend regularly scheduled safety meetings, providing pertinent feedback according to scope of meetings
  • Provide feedback and help design safety training plans to be executed by managers and supervisors
  • Perform physical work required to update and maintain HSEF and good housekeeping requirements, following best safety practices during work
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Operations Manager
Requirements

Education, Experience and Skills

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • 1-2 yrs experience in safety related field
  • OSHA Certified and/or experience is strongly encouraged
  • Previous relevant experience working in an office and distribution warehouse environment - preferably with HSEF related activities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written as well as verbal)
  • Detailed-oriented, problem solving, self-auditing skill
  • Ability to manage and prioritize schedule of daily/monthly tasks
  • Self-motivated, individual contributor and team player
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Products, Web Browsing, and general business systems

  • Must be able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Sit at a desk, working with a computer and necessary accessories, for most of a work shift, including overtime should it be required

Salary Description
$25-26/hr
