Summary This National Guard position is for a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC - Title 32, Position Description Number D2575000 and is part of the WI CRTC, Wisconsin Air National Guard. Responsibilities As a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC - Title 32, WG-6641-10, you will provide munitions support to the state and designated agencies in support of their taskings. This dual status technician position requires military membership. Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: E-4 through E-6 Conditions of Employment: - National Guard Membership is required. - Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. - Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. - Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. - May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. - Must be able to obtain/maintain appropriate security clearance. - Must have a valid driver's license (to obtain a government certificate for munitions transport) Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which has provided the candidate with the knowledge and application of protecting, handling, storing, transporting, and inspecting munitions items and related support equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the WG-6641-10 level, applicants must have at least 18 months experience or training in any combination of the following: Validating expenditure and movement documentation for munitions reconciliation and expenditure reporting. Performing and certifying support equipment serviceability inspections. Preparing and scheduling munitions for shipment. Developing, maintaining, and utilizing a Master Storage Plan. Storing bulk stock and operationally configured or built-up munitions. Repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing a variety of major subassemblies. Experience in the use of precision measurement equipment. Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials. Experience managing allocations, stock levels, inventories, requisitions, and dispositions. Coordinate with flight elements, weapons expediter, flight-line expediter, maintenance activities, and base support agencies to ensure effective flow of information, scheduling, and use of available resources.
