The Electrical Technologist reports to the Maintenance Superintendent at Carseland Nitrogen Operations and works very closely with the Electrical and Instrument Supervisor and Electrical Department.
Key Tasks :
Responsible for PLC’s, Electrical drawings SLD Area Classification, project review/technical resource MOC design etc.
Maintaining/developing switching sheets
Overall technical ownership of the electrical assets and electrical documentation including life cycle planning
Electrical system integrity and regulatory compliance through design reviews, inspection finding review, audits, Electrical Quality Manual program (EQMP) oversight and long-term planning
Create and review design specifications and approval of all electrical equipment and systems modifications or upgrades of the CNO production facilities.
Project and MOC subject matter expect.
Support for high voltage switching orders and electrical work
Working with corporate centralized electrical group to ensure best practices are implemented at Carseland
Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Ability to handle a large and varied work load
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Excellent interpersonal communication, planning and problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of computer systems and data management systems including SAP, SPI (smart plant instrumentation) and Microsoft Office
Continuous improvement mindset resulting in generating cost savings to achieve best value of each dollar spent
Critical Thinking ability for risk assessments, root cause analysis and optimizing job scopes
Computer and SAP skill sets
Electrical Technologist or Electrical Engineering degree
10 years' experience in an industrial setting
Experience working with PLC, Allen Bradley, DCS systems
Familiarity in the use of CMMS (SAP PM) would be an asset
