Amergis Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Cleveland, Ohio

Salary: $30 - $40 per hour

Job Summary

The Residential Therapist provides diagnostic assessment, individual, family and group counseling, and Day Treatment to youth in residential treatment addressing their mental/behavioral health needs.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Social Work with a minimum of two (2) years of diagnostic and counseling experience working with children and adolescents. Master of Social Work or counseling are preferred.

  • Valid Ohio Clinical License in Social Work (LSW, LISW) or Counseling (LPC, LPCC) is required.

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience providing psychiatric diagnostic assessments, individual child and adolescent, family, and group psychotherapy in a residential or community setting is preferred.

    Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical behavioral health services to residents and their identified families.

  • Conducts diagnostic assessment utilizing diagnostic screeners to assess level of functioning, strengths, behavioral health, and psychosocial history, and identify growth areas and need s.

  • Co-creates and implements care plans with the resident and guardian to address clinical needs and evaluates effectiveness and outcomes.

  • Implements best practice and clinical interventions in individual, family and group psychotherapy and Day Treatment

  • Designs and implements goal-directed groups addressing, but not limited to practical living skills; social skills; problem-solving skills; anger-management and conflict resolution; enhance self-esteem.

  • Assists with crisis intervention and problem resolution.

  • Assists with linking and/or coordinating community support service referrals and resources for the youth/family to aid in a successful transition returning to the community.

  • Participates in weekly clinical supervision to discuss client treatment progress, assess clinical intervention outcome, and address other administrative needs.

  • Responsible for the timely completion of clinical documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.

  • Completes progress notes and corresponding billing sheets within the established timeframe.

  • Meets the agency’s productivity guidelines.

  • Assists with serving as a community resource for schools, local agencies and others interested in the program.

  • Coordinates for family and other visits.

  • Collaborates with CCH’s multidisciplinary team to coordinate resident care and address clinical needs.

    Other Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in agency and client-related meetings and committees as necessary.

  • Participates in providing emergency on-call services, including in-person 24/7 as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Stress Management: able to perform and make sound decisions under pressure and in adversity.

  • Clinical Acumen: Developing knowledge of the mental illness, substance use disorders, various therapeutic modalities, and related community resources; Strong intervention. Keeps accurate and appropriate records/documentation.
