In this position…

As a Portfolio Agile Coach, you will help further our Agile journey and coach executives and leadership teams at the Portfolio level. You are a strong practitioner with skills to educate and help Agile teams at differing levels of maturity. You will also work with senior coaches to increase team effectiveness and implement Agile. As the coach, you will have a toolkit of experience and an extensive track record of introducing best practices, overcoming issues, and ensuring that the team has all the necessary skills to make them successful.

What you'll do…

  • Assists Product, Technology, and Business leaders to determine their business issues and recommend solutions to drive business value linked to the portfolio

  • Deep coaching and consulting skills in analytical approach to portfolio assessment and due diligence keeping both technical and functional requirements of IT portfolio and business processes

  • Visualize and continuously improve Portfolio management through the use of backlog management tools (Jira)

  • Assist leaders with articulating value while focusing on delivering the most impactful work for the company.

  • Interprets actual outcomes and compares expected outcomes to make recommendations on pivot, persevere, or stop epics

  • Balances between different types of metrics (productivity vs quality and leading vs lagging) to ensure a broad focus.

  • Able to represent the data learned in a compelling manner to various stakeholders.

  • Communicate and promote the organization’s vision to Agile Scaling practices

  • Able to find people who can remove impediments and know who can persuade them to prioritize the help needed.

  • Responsible for driving the major portfolio planning and management activities

  • Teach, Coach, and Mentor while modeling to others the principles and practices of Agile and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)

  • Provide guidance and support during execution of change management activities

  • Prepare presentations for various levels of leadership

  • Coordinate the input and approval of various project design and decision documents

  • Assist Workstream Leaders in managing multiple efforts simultaneously across a broad range of functions, business, and organizational units

  • Gain an understanding of program workstreams/projects to be able to assist in identification of issues and risks

  • Facilitate engaging training sessions and workshops to help bring people along on the journey.

You'll have…

  • 5+ years of large company portfolio management or other equivalent certification

  • 5+ years of working in a product based organization

  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to evolving business needs

  • Highly developed and demonstrated communication skills, oral and written, to collaborate effectively across the organization including leaders, engineering staffs, and co-workers

  • Strong leadership skills to lead, plan, prioritize, and execute work in efficient and effective ways to meet or exceed objectives on time with quality

  • Strong interpersonal skills for leading, actively listening, coaching, consulting, and resolving conflicts with people

  • SAFe Program Consultant with LPM (Lean Portfolio Management)

  • Experience utilizing backlog management software (Jira, Rally, ADO, etc.) to manage Portfolio Initiatives

  • Experience managing Portfolio Initiatives within an agile product based environment

This position is a salary grade 8.
