EDUSTAFF Educational Assistant - Substitute in DEFOREST, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Perform duties that are instructional in nature or deliver direct services to students or parents. Serve in a position for which a teacher has ultimate responsibility for the design and implementation of educational programs and services. Job Duties may include: - Managing students and a classroom in the absence of the regular teacher. - Perform a variety of duties in assisting a licensed teacher in the implementation and support of instructional programs for students in group or one-on-one settings. - Prepare instructional materials, maintain classroom discipline, and lead planned activities designated by a licensed teacher. - Help develop and maintain a positive school-wide learning environment. Assist in bus loading and unloading. Assist librarians in school libraries. Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts. Distribute teaching materials, such as textbooks, workbooks, papers, and pencils to students. Distribute tests and homework assignments and collect them when they are completed. Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage. Organize and supervise games and other recreational activities to promote physical, mental, and social development. Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations. Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods. Provide disabled students with assistive devices, supportive technology, and assistance accessing facilities, such as restrooms. Provide extra assistance to students with special needs. Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips. Teach social skills to students. Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers. Answer students\' questions. Assist students with boarding or exiting school buses. Follow lesson plans designed by absent teachers. Organize and supervise games or other recreational activities. Provide disabled students with assistive devices, supportive technology, or assistance accessing facilities, such as restrooms. Supervise students during activities outside the classroom, such as recess, lunch, and field trips. Tutor or assist students individually or in small groups. Distribute teaching materials, such as textbooks, workbooks, papers, and pencils, to students. Enforce school and class rules to maintain order in the classroom. Distribute or collect tests or homework assignments. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify to be a substitute educational assistant in the State of Wisconsin, you must: -Must have a high school diploma or GED -Hold a valid WI Special Education Program Aide License with the WI Department of Public Instruction.
