Robert Half Staff Accountant in Fresno, California

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Fresno, California. The primary job function will be to process and manage accounts payable for multiple accounts, ensure accuracy in all transactions, and assist in the preparation of financial reports. The successful candidate will also be responsible for vendor communications and internal control systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable for multiple accounts to ensure accuracy and timeliness in all transactions

• Perform monthly credit card reconciliations, ensuring all charges are accounted for and properly documented

• Maintain accurate financial records and assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

• Work closely with the finance team to implement and maintain financial policies and procedures

• Handle vendor communications and resolve any invoice or payment discrepancies

• Assist in the development and maintenance of internal control systems

• Utilize advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and macros) for financial reporting and analysis

• Support the finance department in budgeting and forecasting processes

• Use accounting software such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze financial data

• Carry out month-end close procedures including the preparation of journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar.

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.

• Demonstrable experience with Accounts Payable (AP).

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.

• Familiarity with General Ledger operations.

• Ability to prepare Journal Entries accurately.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently and in a team.

• Knowledge of accounting best practices and regulations.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and developments.
