DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Officer 2, you will function as the human resource liaison between the assigned departments, the county, the Department of Human Services (DHS), and the State Civil Service Commission.  You will be responsible for all personnel functions for the BHDS program as well as coordination of all civil service procedures and state reporting requirements.  Excellent organizational skills are utilized to maintain all personnel files, monitor leave and absentee records, and enter payroll data into the New World system. This professional also reviews assigned duties and responsibilities of all program funded agency positions in order to maintain job descriptions, organizational charts, and employee history data, as well as verify pay range, establish pay schedules, and review position creation/change requests submitted by program funded agencies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Westmoreland County offers excellent benefits including health/vision insurance, 10 vacation days after 1 year of service, 2 personal days, 15 sick days, and 13 paid holidays. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Administrative Officer 1; or Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Westmoreland County.  If no eligible candidates who live within Westmoreland  County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
