Will offer per diem! Large Utility has an immediate need in Hamilton Township, MI for a Mechanical Engineer. This position in Gas Compression Project Engineering involves Mechanical Project Engineers who collaborate on capital and maintenance projects at natural gas compressor stations, providing mechanical engineering support, ensuring compliance with design standards, and coordinating various aspects of projects, all while focusing on safety, quality, and budget objectives. salary: $47.44 - 52.44 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

  • Provide support to project managers for planning and executing mechanical engineering aspects of capital and maintenance projects.

  • Ensure adherence to design standards and regulatory requirements in detailed designs.

  • Coordinate project work between internal and external engineers, vendors, fabricators, and contractors.

  • Perform moderately complex engineering tasks, evaluating, selecting, and ing engineering theory and techniques.

  • Support project development activities, including feasibility studies, conceptual design, and cost estimating.

  • Develop or review engineering drawings and calculations for construction projects.

  • Oversee the development of detailed design documents by the Engineer of Record.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with AutoCAD.

  • Knowledge of facility design, construction, and operation.

  • Familiarity with planning and permitting in relation to discipline-specific design and construction.

  • Experience in reviewing designs to ensure compliance with engineering design, codes, constructability, and industry standards.

  • Experience in procurement of engineered materials, equipment, and professional services.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.

  • 4+ years of applied engineering experience.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or Engineer in Training with the goal of becoming a PE preferred.

  • Advanced Mechanical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university desirable.
