Reporting to the General Manager, this position is accountable for the development and management of divisional marketing strategies. This position will work with and support the division branches along with providing organizational direction and leadership.

Key Tasks:

  • Develops, implements and manages the division marketing strategy.

  • Reviews and analyses progress towards the achievement of sales forecasts and operational objectives on a regular basis, and initiates action as required. Ensures accurate sales forecasts and expected final results are achieved.

  • Manages the implementation of division marketing strategies, in conjunction with Product Line Managers, Manager, Agronomic Services, Regional Account Managers and Branch Managers.

  • Responsible for all aspects of human resource management within the division including hiring, promoting, performance management, coaching and discharging within company policy and regulatory compliance. Provides for effective staff development according to division requirements. Responsible for managing within the terms and conditions of the collective agreements, where applicable.

  • Manages all aspects of physical resources including maintenance and repair, compliance with CPI and other industry regulations, ensuring safe working environment and facilities. Ensures standards are met for farm supply audits and inventory cycle counts.

  • Ensures management of the customer base and successful implementation of customer programs.

  • Analyses capital requirements and provides recommendations regarding capital budget needs.

  • Analyses operating requirements and provides recommendations regarding budget needs.

  • Ensures the coordination of transportation logistics within the division.

  • Ensures division services are developed as appropriate.

  • Ensures the implementation of pro-active health and safety, environmental and security programs.

  • Assist Branch Managers with the settlement of disputes within the division, internal and external to the company.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop people.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage within the terms of the collective agreement and human resource policies.

  • Familiarity with grain and farm supply industry regulations and policies.

  • Computer competent in word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications.

  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Agriculture or Commerce

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of demonstrated successful experience.

  • Three (3) years of this experience must have been in a management capacity.

  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

  • Ability to complete a Criminal Background Check, Drug & Alcohol Testing, and Driving Record Abstract as required by Nutrien Ag Solutions policies.
