Industrial Machinery Mechanic II Job Summary:

This position's primary focus is the responsibility for repairing and rebuilding industrial machinery and equipment in a factory or manufacturing plant. They are responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, conveyors, production line equipment, machine tools, and robotics.

 

Essential Duties

  • Diagnose & repair general heavy equipment mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, machining, welding and electrical.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs including cleaning, lubricating, performing basic diagnostic tests on equipment and inspection of damaged parts.
  • Install and disassemble industrial equipment.
  • Inspection of machines to identify potential issues.
  • Thoroughly document the inspection process.
  • Use of cranes and forklifts
  • Use of rigging equipment
  • Focus on safety & adhere to safety protocols.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.

     

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Troubleshooting existing machinery lubrication systems
  • Work with general supervision and may provide work training to less experienced staff.
  • Install, dismantle, or move machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, manuals, or other drawings.
  • Set-up equipment based on highly technical instructions and blueprints.
  • Work involves leveling and adjusting moving components to standard clearances and tolerances.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and routing machinery maintenance.
  • This position may require the candidate to learn additional responsibilities. 

     

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Possesses a strong knowledge of stamping & forging press operation and design.
  • The ideal person for this position will possess a strong drive to perform to a high level of craftsmanship that reflects well on themselves & the company. 
  • Strong background in safety & rigging.
  • Proficiency with measuring tools, micrometers etc.
  • Ability to read blueprints & technical manuals.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads up to 80 lbs.
  • Availability to travel overnight regularly to different customer sites for extended periods of work.
  • Available to work Overtime as needed, including some weekends.
  • Must have valid driver's license.

     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of concepts of operation in Electrical, Pneumatic & Hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of machine controls -- diagnosis & repair.
  • Possess most necessary personal hand tools to perform duties.
  • Possesses good communication skills and is detail oriented.
  • Ability to obtain a passport.
  • Ability to work some holidays if required.
