Position Summary :

This person will be responsible for providing direction and support to the US Loveland Products Technical Service staff along with providing advisory support for product development with our Canadian & international businesses. The Technical Service staff is comprised of a team of highly skilled representatives strategically placed throughout the US that provide technical support and coordination of research for the Loveland Product portfolio. The Manager of Tech Services and Product Support will also serve as a liaison between Tech Services and other corporate departments (Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, International, etc.).

Essential Functions:

  • Day to day management, direction and support of the LPI Tech service team.

  • Represent the agronomics in product development projects.

  • Coordinate agronomic and technical product training.

  • Maintain & develop a strong working relationship with the company owned & managed research facilities (including research farms, greenhouses & labs).

  • Assist marketing and sales with informational and technical needs.

  • Owner of the agronomic research database.

  • Manage product trials & protocol creation (both development and commercialized).

  • Assist the Canadian business in a technical advisory role for product development.

  • International business support with technical advice on a need be basis.

  • Management of special projects.

  • Develop & enhance a strong working relationship with strategic partners.

  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Good attendance required

Qualifications:

  • Education: Required: B.S. degree in agronomy, plant pathology, entomology or weed science (Advanced degrees preferred) Masters, Ph.D.

  • Minimum 8 years experience in the agricultural industry with field research or tech service background and management experience.

  • Technical knowledge, field research and data management skills.

  • Proven understanding of sales support needs and ability to develop technical selling tools.

  • Excellent verbal, written communication & interpersonal skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to influence.

  • Proven ability to develop and retain business relationships.

  • Certification through ARCPACS encouraged.

  • Active participation in one or more professional Ag organizations encouraged.

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
