The Secure Information Systems Department at Collins Aerospace is seeking an Associate Director Secure Systems Architect to help grow a new and exciting secure system product line. The qualified candidate will have extensive systems engineering experience throughout the Engineering V Model with a deep knowledge of secure systems. The Systems Architect will lead the systems engineering team across multiple products in the business portfolio.

This position requires onsite presence in either McKinney, TX or El Segundo, CA. This position is e ligible for relocation assistance.

The Associate Director Secure Systems Architect is the SE authority tasked to ensure robust secure solutions are verified and validated in a fast-paced agile environment. The candidate will drive a scaled agile systems process working with product owners and functional leads to reduce time to market to meet our customer’s ever-changing requirements. This individual is a lifelong learner with a proven history of pushing teams toward new and innovative processes, tools, and a quality focused culture. The Architect is a technical leader whose roles and responsibilities include requirements derivation, architecture, and design, implementing agile processes and tools, leading bids and proposal work, and working across the engineering functions to achieve program objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, develop, integrate, and test secure processing solutions across all products in the portfolio.

• Promote, mature, and grow the application and use of MBSE for the product line.

• The authority for all requirements, design, verification, and validation activities in the Systems Engineering V Model

• Support the training and growth of the SE team on the product line and ensure best practices are adhered to.

• Work with the Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, and Business Development on new business pursuits.

• Work within the boundaries of government and company guidelines to ensure compliant and cutting-edge solutions for both current and future capabilities.

Qualifications / Experience Needed:

• Typically requires 12 years or greater of professional relevant experience.

• Expert experience with system security concepts and designs

• Expert experience in developing architectures and design of complex systems.

• Expert experience with integrating software and firmware on FPGAs and SOCs

• Strong experience with MBSE

• Strong experience with bid and proposal work

• Experience with ASIC design

• Experience with TCP and UDP Ethernet protocols

• Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams with other team members and customers.

• Supporting development projects from concept through implementation and integration.

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience.

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
