Robert Half Staff Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee

Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Your work will involve all aspects of general accounting, from managing accounts payable and receivable to handling inventory and fixed assets.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of general journal records to ensure accurate financial transactions.

• Monitor accounts payable and receivable to keep track of the company's financial operations.

• Oversee inventory management to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

• Manage fixed assets and property tax to maintain financial stability of the organization.

• Provide support for monthly accounting period end processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Assist in meeting federal and state requirements to ensure compliance with all financial regulations.

• Utilize accounting software, such as Sage, NetSuite, Oracle, and QuickBooks, to streamline accounting processes.

• Employ strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles in all aspects of the role.

• Use analytical skills to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.

• Work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve shared goals. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Proficiency in managing the General Ledger

• Ability to make accurate Journal Entries

• Experience in conducting Month End Close activities

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software

• Strong understanding of GAAP Accounting principles

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
