Asphalt Distributor Operator

An Asphalt Distributor Operator is responsible for the primary function to operate the asphalt distributor truck, applying liquid asphalt prior to an area being paved. The operator must perform daily maintenance checks and report any mechanical or safety issues to a supervisor.The operator may be required to perform minor repairs to the equipment and is expected to assist in the general operation of each site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities but are not limited to the following:

• -Filling Asphalt and Burner Fuel Tanks

• -Setting spray bars

• -Spraying joints and other surfaces

• -Cleaning excess asphalt out of tanks, and from spray bars

• -Driving company vehicles

• -Operating rollers, trucks, power broom, tamps, and skid steer loaders, and any other equipment the employee is able to operate

Education/Experience

• -Ability to perform strenous work

• -Must have some basic mathmatical skills

• -Good penmanship, record keeping, and basic computer skills

• -Ability to follow verbal and written instruction

• -Ability to communicate effectively over the radio

• -High School diploma or GED equivalent

Minimum Skills and Requirements

• -Must be a Self Motivated Person who can work well on their own in a plant environment

• -This position requires a Commercial Drivers class A or B License

• -Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals
