Responsibilities

Orientation Counselor

Turning Point has an opening for a full-time Orientation Counselor. The Orientation Counselor provides individual and group counseling to adults with trauma, mental health, and/or substance abuse issues. Therapists must be aware of social factors affecting the psychological well-being of individuals, services/programs for psychological/sociological improvement of individuals, and in conducting evaluative interviews. The Orientation Counselor assists in the timely completion of Biopsychosocial Assessments, family intake assessments, and orients new patients to the unit and Turning Point programming.

    Qualifications

    Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelors in Social Work or Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling/Therapy, required

  • Licensure in the State of Georgia: LMSW, LCSW, LAMFT, LMFT, LAPC, or LPC is preferred.

  • Three (3) years in clinical services desired; two (2) years working with dually/multiple diagnosed, preferred

  • Competence in understanding and treating primary mental health diagnosis, substance dependence, and the treatment of dual diagnosis.
