The Division of Veterans Services {IDVS) is recruiting for a temporary Nursing Assistant to support our dedicated team of health care professionals at the State Veterans Home in Pocatello.

We are seeking a candidate who has a positive attitude, excellent teamwork skills, and is organized and driven to provide exceptional care.

This opening is for a temporary 20 - 40 hours per week position and includes a full state benefits package.

Temporary employees work a maximum of 1,385 service hours in a twelve (12) months period.

The employee in this position is expected to complete their Idaho Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training and receive their certificate within 120 days from hire.

This position is eligible for tuition assistance including a Nursing Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning resident rooms including changing bed linens, folding towels, and arranging nightstands, closets, and dresser drawers

• Cataloging resident's personal items

• Labeling, sorting, and distributing resident clothing

• Stocking resident rooms and storage areas

• Transporting residents to the dining room, therapy gym, and activity areas

• Answering resident call lights

• Assisting in the dining room

• Performs other duties as deemed necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

Willingness to:

• Clean and restock residents rooms and storage areas

• Answer resident call lights to determine resident needs

• Accurately catalog residents' personal items and label their clothing

• Transport residents to various areas and activities within the facility

Desirable Qualifications:

These qualifications are not required, however, having the education or experience below might increase your score.

• Medical Assistant Certification

• Some experience following written and oral instructions
