The Welding Specialist supervises all activities in the fabrication/welding shop, performs welding jobs and ensures the reliability of the plants at crucial times. In this role you would report to the Services Superintendent.

Key Tasks:

  • Performs welding jobs and ensures the reliability of the plants at crucial times.

  • Supervises the activities of the fabrication/welding shop.

  • Interpret and develop piping isometrics and engineering drawings.

  • Review of welding activities determining the most appropriate methods and procedures to be utilized.

Skills:

  • Skilled and competent in the welding of numerous ferrous, non- ferrous and exotic alloys.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Computer Literate especially with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Supervisory skills and the ability to direct contractor workers on specific welding/ fabrication tasks.

  • Demonstrated competence in the development, review and approval of Welding Procedures.

  • Skilled and competent in the welding of numerous ferrous, non-ferrous and exotic alloys.

Qualifications:

  • Technician's Certificate – Welding or Mechanical Engineering for an recognised institution.

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in welding and fabrication.
