Description:

Responsible for high level Quality Inspection, testing and support for all salt grades product and material operations.

ACCOUNTIBILITY

• Accountable and responsible for daily input of data and generation of product COA’s.

• Accountable and responsible for monitoring GMP guidelines and quality systems related to production.

• Accountable and responsible for finished product quality sampling, inspection, testing and control of all salt products

RESPONSIBILITY

• Responsible for analytical testing and/or inspection of in-process and finished product testing according to prescribed procedures

• Conducts plant inspections of both product and processes, as prescribed by QC Manager

• Responsible for testing of incoming materials and ingredients according to testing schedule

• Responsible for magnet inspection documentation distribution, collection and review.

• Responsible for routine magnet and scalping screen HACCP inspections.

• Responsible for the calibration of laboratory equipment.

• Responsible for the routine measurement of HACCP program magnet strength.

• Responsible for completing analytical test method validation studies.

• Maintain QC document storage and backup system.

• Performs all duties in safe manner observing all EHS standards and laboratory safety guidelines

• Provides back-up support for other QC technicians on an as needed basis

• Documents, assembles and maintains all quality related documents in a legible manner according to documentation protocols

• Responsible for the generation, review, and revision of SOPs, WI’s and forms, as assigned by QC Manager

• Responsible for providing testing assistance for in plant troubleshooting related to foreign material events or salt issues.

• Responsible for preparing test chemical solutions.

• Responsible for maintaining laboratory cleanliness and housekeeping.

• Responsible for assisting with internal audits of the facility

Tests performed:

UV-Viz, Particle size analysis, chemical contaminants, AA, Spectrophotometer, sodium nitrate testing, spectrofluorophotometer, food grade testing (purity testing), USP testing

Day to Day-

Will come in, go out to plant floor, grab samples from in-process and finished products, bring the samples back to the lab, run UV-viz (Will do this test every 2 hours on samples) along with other wet chemistry tests such as titration and pH. They will routinely go out and grab samples every 2 hours to test. They will also do other special tests needed. They will document all of their results after each test and perform instrument calibration as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must have skills: College degree (BS) in any sciences, at least 1 chemistry laboratory class where hands on skills using scales and pipettes were used. Prefer 1-2 years of industry experience in a lab setting. Open to industry. Need to be Computer proficient in utilization of MS Office (Word, Excel).

Nice-to-haves: food lab testing, GMP experience, pharmaceutical exp
