Your Career

Palo Alto Networks has built a world-class product management organization and continues to look for top-notch talent to tackle challenging security problems. As a Senior Product Manager for PAN-OS (https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/network-security/pan-os) , you will play an instrumental role in managing the lifecycle of PAN-OS, which is the software that powers our next-generation firewalls and multiple cloud-based as-a-service offerings. This role will be instrumental in driving adoption of PAN-OS across our entire next-generation firewall customer base. This role will influence the customers’ upgrade and new purchase cycles as we continue to innovate with new security features, from threat prevention to Gen AI (https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/precision-ai-security) , and hardware. This is a high visibility position that will drive the business of our core Strata (https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/network-security) network security platform and enable the success of the platformization (https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/why-paloaltonetworks/consolidation) strategy of the company.

Your Impact

  • Manage lifecycle of PAN-OS which includes - upgrade management, version adoption and quality metrics

  • Improve the operational experience of using and managing PAN-OS NGFWs

  • Collaborate with the management software team (Panorama, Strata Cloud Manager) to radically transform the operational day-to-day usage, upgrade and deployment methods for PAN-OS on NGFWs

  • Partner closely with engineering to develop proactive upgrade strategies

  • Collaborate with customer success and field organization to implement the upgrade strategies

  • Develop insights into customer deployments and provide recommendations to accelerate feature adoption

  • Enable a continuously successful upgrade path for customers that ensures a smooth renewal and refresh of new products/models that drive higher lifetime value (LTV) in the company’s core network security business, and influences growth of emerging businesses

Your Experience

  • BS/MS in electrical engineering or computer science or computer engineering preferred or equivalent military experience required

  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering lead role (software development, release or quality assurance) or alternatively experience in managing upgrades of large network appliance systems

  • Any experience in product management is a plus

  • Experience in hands-on operational, i.e. real-world, device and appliance management

  • Experience in security or firewall technology is a plus, especially managing upgrades of PAN-OS NGFW firewalls

  • Strong understanding of Linux-based systems such as network appliances

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface cross functionally as well as with external customers, field teams and partners

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $163,200/yr to $264,000/yr.
