The AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program is seeking mature workers aged 55 years and older. This program aims to train mature workers while they update their skills. If you're unemployed and struggling to find work, this opportunity might be for you!

  • Training Program: Prepare for employment while receiving a training stipend of $7.25 an hour. Work 20 hours per week.
  • Positions Available: Administrative-Clerical, Custodian-Building Maintenance, Customer Service Representative, Food Service, Retail

Important Qualifications:

  • Age: 55 years or older.
  • Residency: Must live in one of the following counties: Bradford, Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Monroe, Montour, Pike, Potter, Susquehanna, Wayne.
  • Employment Status: Must be unemployed and meet income guidelines.

The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is the nation's oldest program assisting low-income, unemployed individuals aged 55 and above in finding work. Participants are matched with local nonprofits and public agencies to increase skills and self-confidence while earning a modest income. Additionally, participants may receive supportive services and skills training tailored to their interests and goals.

 

AARP Foundation's SCSEP program (CFDA 17.235) is funded with $77,808,096  million in grants with U.S. Department of Labor funds. This funding provides 90% of the support for SCSEP, with AARP Foundation matching 10%
