Robert Half is currently working with a client looking to fill a Global Sourcing Manager position.

SUMMARY:

This position will plan, manage, and execute an efficient strategy for domestic and international procurement of raw materials and components that meet or exceed quality and performance specifications for the best price on a global basis. This individual will work closely with the Product Development team to fully understand design intent and critical performance levels of raw materials and components. This understanding will be used for the accurate selection of vendors that will meet criteria for efficient and cost-effective production of our products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Design, document and maintain an international vendor qualification manual. This manual shall include the matrix of vendor qualifications as well as the vendor organizational structure and contact hierarchy.

· Initiate and lead cost reduction activities to meet assigned targets and objectives.

· Manage and maintain a strategy for risk management of all international suppliers.

· Manage and maintain a strategy for risk management of all parts unique to Kewaunee or sole sourced.

· Collaborate with the Manager of Quality to ensure all “first article” components meet company standards. May apply approval or rejection labels to materials once inspected at vendor site. Maintain a library of “approved first article control samples” for imported components based on predefined criteria.

· Maintain supplier database, and supplier capabilities in order to recommend and execute procurement of materials from alternate sources.

· Coordinate the process of obtaining international third-party certifications as required for standard imported articles, such as UL, FM and NSF.

· Assure performance testing for potential components and material purchases match defined criteria.

· Travel as required to develop new sources for components and raw materials, mitigate quality concerns, and to audit all potential supplier factories.

· Works in conjunction and communicates closely with various departments, including Purchasing, Product Development, and Sales and Marketing Departments to execute an efficient strategy for procurement of raw materials and components.

    Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of international sourcing experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field

  • International Supply Chain/Procurement experience required

  • Experience in Quality Management

  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
