Job Purpose and Impact

The Grain Marketing Associate will work while learning as part of a team to differentiate our product offering leading to stronger business relationships with our clients resulting in incremental sales and margin opportunities. In this role, you will learn how to prospect clients, identify opportunities, uncover needs and proactively identify new ideas and commodity marketing strategies while providing education around possible solutions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Participate in a development program to prepare you to become a successful commodity Advisor where you will be providing a consultative service with commodity customers.

  • Partner with commodity and risk management experts to develop technical expertise.

  • Participate in a collaborative mentoring program across job functions to gain a wider perspective of the whole business,

  • Build knowledge on multiple aspects of the position through formal training, peer shadowing and hands-on experience.

  • Develop knowledge to help customers prosper and maximize their return by utilizing our full range of products, solve customer problems and create new opportunities.

  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma/certificate or bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Interest in learning the Canadian grain industry, agricultural production and farm management

  • Possess a valid Canadian Driver’s License in good standing

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the agricultural industry

  • Comprehension of Risk Management Tools

  • Consulting and value-based selling experience

  • Familiar with commodity markets and/or financial markets
