Job Summary: Seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Energy Analyst to join the Strategy and Business Development team within Generac’s Clean Energy organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience in energy and financial analysis, and a deep understanding of solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage technologies or other distributed energy resources. The Sr. Energy Analyst will play a key role in assessing the feasibility and financial viability of Generac’s Clean Energy product suite to inform policy positions, market development strategy, and product design.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed energy analysis and modeling of residential solar and storage systems using industry-standard software (e.g., SAM, PVsyst, HOMER, Aurora, OpenSolar, etc.)

  • Develop financial models to assess the economic feasibility and return on investment (ROI) of Generac’s residential solar and storage products

  • Perform research to inform technical considerations, economic factors, market rules, and relevant policies that impact analyses

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering and product management to support volume growth of Generac’s current Clean Energy product suite and support the development of next-generation products

  • Collaborate with the policy team to stay current on the evolution of utility rate design and incentives for residential solar and storage in key markets. Evaluate the impact of rate changes on the value proposition for solar, storage, EV charging, and other energy management devices

  • Generate accurate reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate analysis findings and recommendations effectively

  • Support other market and competitive analysis as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or a related field

  • 2-4 years relevant work experience in energy, cleantech, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in energy modeling software such as SAM, PVsyst, HOMER or equivalent

  • Prior experience working with solar design tools (e.g. Aurora, OpenSolar) and utility rate databases (e.g. Energy Toolbase, Genability/Arcadia)

  • Knowledge of local regulations, utility rate design and incentives for residential solar and storage installations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in analysis and reporting

  • Demonstrated experience scoping and performing analysis and research tasks independently

G enerac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $104,000 - $140,000. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.
