Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The role of the Database/

IAM administrator is to manage the Microsoft

SQL Environment and function as a key technical resource for Identity and Access Management at

UNCW. This individual will also participate in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the

UNCW

MSSQL and

IAM environments are consistent with university goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of technical experience or an associate degree in computer or Information Systems field with seven years of technical experience. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Strong Experience with Microsoft SQL 2014, 2016, 2022
  • Proficiency with ETL development using SSIS for data analysis and migration
  • Strong knowledge of experience with IAM infrastructure operations
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting, C# or VB.net in building and maintain IAM connectors for various target systems and applications
  • Strong proficiency with SSRS/Power BI Report Server development and scale out deployment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and basic knowledge of virtualization platforms

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 5+ years of progressive technical experience
  • Strong knowledge of installation, design, and configuration of Microsoft Identity Manager 2016 platform
    • Experience implementing IAM platforms

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Infrastructure and Operations Services is responsible for the planning, installation, management, and support of UNCW's central computing and storage infrastructure, in addition to its voice and data networks. This includes the infrastructure supporting advanced research computing, distance education, and other academic initiatives. Network Communications including telecommunications, networking infrastructure, both wired and wireless, firewalls, and VoIP.
