Seaman Corporation Process Engineering Manager - Seaman Corporation in Wooster, Ohio

POSITION SUMMARY

The Process Engineering Manager will oversee, train, and coordinate the process engineering resources to ensure that company objectives and goals are met. The Process Engineering Manager is responsible for the development of process engineers within the company to lead continuous process improvement and process/capability ownership across all Seaman Corporation manufacturing facilities, operating lines, and outside operations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Leads and develops multi-plant team of process engineers in driving operational consistency and implementing process/operational improvements.
  • Works closely with plant leadership to drive technological advances in process control and manufacturing technologies
  • Drives continuous process improvements to meet yield improvement, scrap reduction, and uptime targets.
  • Leads process engineering function in conjunction with operations to identify, prioritize, and develop solutions for systemic process challenges for commercialized and developing products.
  • Establishes continuous improvement programs, interfacing with quality assurance, operations, capital planning and research and development for new and existing product lines.
  • Facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
  • Solicits, prioritizes, and administers a pipeline of operational process improvement projects to meet operational improvement targets.
  • Serves as project manager for multiple projects, creating timelines and cost projections, organizing collaborative meetings, and ensuring projects comply with specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Reviews work and projects for technical accuracy.
  • Establishes, implements, and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Prepares and executes departmental budget.
  • Negotiates contracts with outside vendors.
  • Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree- Engineering required; master's degree in engineering or business administration preferred or equivalent experience.
  • At least ten years of related experience required (process engineer, plant management, product development, and/or technology management).

     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in multiple functions above
  • Managerial experience
  • Lean Sigma certification

     

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: Manages the process engineers at both Bristol, TN and Wooster, OH facilities.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 25-50% (to Wooster or Bristol
