Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Cost Accountant to join our client located in Wake Forest, NC.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving financial results, performance analysis, and ensuring a timely monthly end closing/reporting for the Business Unit. The Senior Cost Accountant will also be expected to adhere to all financial and accounting policies in line with GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Costing: Monitor, review, and analyze cost variances.

• Inventory Analysis: Support cycle counting and quarterly physical inventory processes.

• Month End Close: Participate in the monthly closing process and ensure all assigned Account Reconciliations are done on time.

• Capital Expenditures: Monitor capital projects deadlines and support business case development.

• Annual Budget: Partner with operations and corporate personnel to develop the annual budget.

• Productivity: Track and validate cost savings from operations productivity improvement projects.

• Process Improvement: Recommend and implement new ways of working.

• Audit: Support internal audits and year-end external audits.

• Business Support: Regularly spend time on shopfloor to learn the business and contribute to financial success.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. CPA, MBA, or CMA desirable.

• Manufacturing industry along with cost accounting experience is required.

• Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.

• Experience with SAP is preferred.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
